FAMILY CAMPS FAQ AND DETAILS
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FAMILY CAMPS
Our FAQ section offers helpful answers to all of your common and important questions.
Each of our camps offers different accommodation options, but each of them has a variety of cabins with en-suites for your family’s space. Some of our family camps also offer camping options. All the details about the accommodation and camping options can be found on the individual camps event page.
As part of each of our family camps, we have age-based streams and all-in gatherings.
All gatherings will include fun games and interaction between families, as well as the opportunity to engage in worship before campers head off into their age-based streams
Our age-based Streams are part of our program where everyone gathers in age-based streams, including Adults. During this time, we have some fun together, playing games, using our adventure activities, maybe grabbing a coffee for the Adults, as well as engaging in age-appropriate teaching and discussions around faith and the Bible. All age-based streams will be facilitated by our experienced leadership team
Yes, you can invite your friends to be involved in camp! We love families who know each other coming to be a part of our CYC Family Camps, and know the value that can have both for your family and for other families on camp.
All families need to sign up separately, but on the application form, there is a space for you to specify other families who you know are also going to be on camp and would like to be accommodated near you.
Then just sit back and allow the shared adventure to happen!
Our Family Camp programs are thoughtfully designed to ensure you and your family get the most out of your camp experience. Active participation is key—not only to strengthening your own family connections but also to enhancing the experience for others.
Family Camps are not just a holiday, but an opportunity for you to engage as a family and with other families. So to get the most out of that, we expect families to engage fully in all elements of the program wherever practically possible.
But with all meals, activities and program provided, why wouldn’t you?
We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without an amazing team of dedicated volunteers!
All CYC camps and events are predominantly staffed by an incredibly passionate and dedicated group of volunteers, who are excited about spending a week of camp with your young person or family. Our volunteers will lead a group of campers throughout the week, getting to know them well and acting as role models for the young people on camp. Our teams typically operate at a 1:4 ratio with campers, allowing for both effective supervision and the opportunity to build impactful relationships.
Volunteers all come from local church communities and apply directly to our CYC staff team, who will ensure that their application aligns with our mission and values. All our leaders provide multiple references, engage in relevant training including Child Safety and role-specific training prior to camp, and are supervised by one of our staff team members who will be onsite at all times.
